We are inviting applications for a Post-doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in Economics with fields of research in Macroeconomics orComputational Social Science. The appointment is for 3 years and will begin September 1, 2025, subject to final budget approval.

The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Dr. Ala?s Martin-Baillon,? Dr. Jordan Norris, and Dr. Samreen Malik. The collaborative research will be on macroeconomic expectations, with a focus on firms and the role of networks. An ideal candidate may have experience with surveys and RCTs, be capable with economic theory, and have expertise in computational economics. Programming and skills with statistical packages are essential.

The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation.

About the position:

We are looking for a Senior Research Assistant to support the implementation of a citywide water conservation project that targets high-consumption users in both the domestic and the non-domestic sectors. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be part of a passionate, interdisciplinary team working at the interface of science, policy, and public service. You will help translate data-driven insights into actionable policy measures and behavioural change interventions.

Key responsibilities


	Support the Project Manager in the daily operations and project delivery of the citywide water conservation project
	Supervise a small team (full-time and part-time clerical staff and field assistants), including the assignment of tasks, the setting of priorities, and the checking of output for accuracy and quality
	Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., households, property managers, Water Supplies Department officers) to coordinate the tasks of scheduling, communications, and gathering feedback
	Monitor project workflows and ensure accurate documentation and reporting
	Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements


	A recognized Bachelor's degree or above (preferably in Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, Communications, or related fields)
	At least 5 years of experience in project coordination or community outreach. Experience in supervising small teams is an advantage
	Strong command of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
	Highly organized, detail-minded, and capable of multi-tasking under tight timelines
	Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across disciplines and engage diverse stakeholders
	Fluency in Cantonese and English (spoken and written); strong writing ability is an advantage
	Experience working in the public sector, NGOs or community-based projects is highly desirable

InsideOut is Australia's national institute for research, translation and clinical excellence in eating disorders with global research partnerships. We aim to transform the prevention, early intervention and treatment landscape for eating disorders in Australia, and ultimately find a cure. Our other programs of work focus on implementation and large scale translation of our programs into mainstream health pathways, consultation and advice to government on policy and practice. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support Professor Sarah Maguire and her team in their Eating Disorder research.

Your key responsibilities will be to:


	undertake and lead quantitative and qualitative research in a number of projects focusing on eating disorders
	provide leadership within the research team at InsideOut Institute
	develop and write successful applications for competitive research grants and/ or funding to deliver research and translation programs

Materials Innovation Institute for Life Sciences and Energy (MILES)

What We Offer

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. As Project Planner, you will play a central role in organizing and coordinating our activities in two key national geoinformatics networks.?The Location Innovation Hub (LIH)?is a national collaboration platform that accelerates the use of location data in research, the public sector, and business.?The Geoportti Research Infrastructure (RI), in turn, serves as Finland’s primary platform for improving access to geospatial data, analytical tools, and training across academia and beyond.
