About the position

Widening Participation and Outreach is responsible for activities and programs that inform post-secondary school aspiration and raise student achievement, as well as academic pathway and enabling programs for school students and mature-aged students. This position is also the key contact point for academic outreach activities that connect secondary schools with our academic community.

The Senior School Regional Pathways Senior Coordinator position is in the Regional Pathways Program team based at each regional campus.

The Pathways Program is a regional initiative that aims to address the disparity in higher education participation and attainment between regional and metropolitan areas. It focuses on increasing educational engagement among senior secondary school students by providing them with a comprehensive framework of academic capacity-building sessions, literacy tutoring and resources, pastoral strategies, and university immersions

This position is responsible for the facilitation and coordination of sequential workshops and supporting resources for students from years 11-12 participating schools.

?This includes supporting secondary students in participating schools in the Greater Mildura and outlying areas either face-2-face or online, managing school stakeholders, interactive and innovative resource development, monthly reporting and evaluation of program content. The role also includes training of university students to act as role models and mentors, manage workflows and budgets and other administrative tasks for effective program delivery.

This position is based at Mildura campus and will require travel to participating schools in the Greater Mildura area.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have


	A formal school or tertiary teaching qualification, e.g. B.Ed, M.Ed, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.

The Department of Physics is part of the School of Mathematics and Physics at XJTLU. Research within the Department of Physics seeks to explore and explain fundamental aspects of the world we live in, from the smallest subatomic particles to the Universe as a whole.
