The university was created to provide higher education to residents of the Swat Valley. 
The three campuses include the main campus, Shangla Campus located in Charbagh and the Women’s Campus. The main campus is located 20km from the main city of Mingora in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, an area recognised as a hub of culture, heritage and nature and known for its hospitable locals. Mingora City is often referred to as Mingora Bazaar due to its large business presence. 
The university offers 35 degree programmes across six faculties: language and literature, physical and numerical sciences, management and social sciences, religious and legal studies, chemical sciences and life sciences.

Setting:

The 51国产视频 of Vienna seeks to fill a position of 51国产视频 Assistant (prae doc), for a period of 4 years, focusing on process mining. The selected prae doc will become part of the Research Group Workflow Systems and Technology (WST) at the Faculty of Computer Science and will work towards obtaining a doctorate degree (PhD) under the supervision of Prof. Han van der Aa. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.

The WST research group focuses on research in process mining, which revolves around the data-driven analysis of organizational processes. At WST, we offer an excellent working environment in a young and dynamic research team. As a member of the team, you will contribute to state-of-the-art research in the field. You will have the opportunity to set your own research agenda, publish your work at leading international conferences, and exchange ideas with international and interdisciplinary collaboration partners.

The Faculty of Computer Science of the 51国产视频 of Vienna has world-leading researchers in Computer Science who pursue basic as well as applied research. The selected praedoc will also become part of the UniVie Doctoral School Computer Science (DoCS), which builds an essential framework to foster excellence in research and teaching.

The appointment is for 4 years, whereby the employment contract is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of 4 years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-renewal after a maximum of 12 months.

Your future tasks:

You will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, which means that you:


	are involved in process mining research
	will work on your doctoral dissertation and its completion
	will contribute to the teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement
	will supervise students in bachelor and master projects
	will contribute to the administration and other operational aspects of the group's scientific and educational activities


Your profile:


	Master's degree in Computer Science, (Business) Information Systems, Data Science, or an equvalent qualification with excellent grades
	An excellent command of English (spoken and written)
	A strong interest to work in process mining (experience is preferred but not required)
	Good programming skills, preferably in Python
	Strong ability to work in teams
	Perseverance and ability to get things done
	A high motivation to excel in your work


Desirable qualifications are


	Knowledge of process mining
	Experience with process modeling (Petri nets, BPMN, etc.)
	Experience with relevant programming libraries such as Py4PM
	Research or teaching experience, e.g., as a student assistant

The Role

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Department of Engineering with a particular emphasis on hydrogen technologies. The EPSRC project, UNISON, seeks to improve the combustion of neat ammonia by exploring fuel additive-enhanced combustion or a catalytic burner that enable ammonia-hydrogen co-combustion. Key goals include optimising combustion efficiency, minimising emissions, and providing industry-ready solutions for ammonia combustion. Working within the EPSRC project, they will focus on clean combustion challenges, analysing and interpreting research findings, supporting the development of innovative combustors, and driving innovative technology solutions. The role also involves contributing to research funding bids, supporting licensing or spin-out activities, and enhancing the broader public understanding and commercial impact of the research.

The post-holder is employed to work on the UNISON project which will be led by Prof Dawei Wu. Whilst this means that the post-holder will not be carrying out independent research in his/her own right, the expectation is that they will contribute to the advancement of the project, through the development of their own research ideas/adaptation and development of research protocols.

Experience
