Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

The School of Law, Politics, and Philosophy is seeking a full-time Lecturer in International Relations, who ideally specialises in the international politics of the wider Indo-Pacific and covers one of the following regions: South Pacific, Southeast 51国产视频, Northeast 51国产视频 or South 51国产视频. This role will involve teaching relevant undergraduate and postgraduate courses, actively contributing to the School's research culture, and supervising research students.

We are open to applications from any theoretical or methodological perspective - including traditional paradigms and critical approaches that valorise "other" ways of knowing (such as Indigenous, non-Western, or feminist).

Salary will be in the range of $87,500 to $104,322 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus.

You will have experience teaching undergraduate papers, including the ability to lecture to large numbers and conduct small-group seminars and tutorials effectively. In addition, you should demonstrate how your own research aligns with or extends the existing research strengths in the School.

About the Role

The Research Officer will contribute to an innovative project aimed at improving access to full blood examination (FBE) testing at the point-of-care in remote primary health care settings. Under the guidance of the Chief Investigator and in collaboration with the Project Coordinator and research team, the role involves supporting point-of-care (POC) FBE testing, collecting and analysing research data, and helping to produce meaningful outcomes such as peer-reviewed publications, community reports, and workshops. This position offers the opportunity to be part of impactful research that directly supports health equity in underserved communities. Some out of hours work (including weekends), as well as interstate travel, may be required.

International Centre for Point-of-Care Testing

The International Centre for Point-of-Care Testing works collaboratively with national and international partners to improve health care, access to pathology testing, and improve health outcomes. The Centre translates national research and teaching expertise in the field of community based POC Testing to national and international audiences, and as a result, builds the capacity of rural and remote communities globally (particularly Indigenous communities) and develops solutions to improve both health service delivery and patient outcomes.

Description

The Division of Science at New York 51国产视频 Abu Dhabi are inviting applications for a fully funded Post-Doctoral Associate position in the areas of thermal and mechanical characterization of materials.

The candidate will work as a post-doctoral associate or a researcher in the Smart Materials Lab (Naumov research group). The role will involve preparing, characterizing and testing new smart materials, at the intersection of materials science, chemistry, and engineering. A strong background in thermal or mechanical characterization of surface and bulk properties of solids from either science (solid-state physics) or engineering (mechanical) is a requirement. The specific research projects will focus on both experimental and modeling aspects of the effects of temperature on mechanical properties, such as ability for elastic or plastic deformation. The candidate will conduct experiments related to assigned research projects, process the data, and prepare results for presentation in articles and conferences. Additionally, the candidate will submit biweekly reports on their research and participate in group seminars. Training students, such as capstone students or interns, and other researchers on techniques within their research domain is also part of the role. The candidate will collaborate with the staff of the Core Technology Platforms to receive training on available analytical techniques.

Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, solid-state physics or chemistry, or materials solid-state chemistry. Candidates with experimental skills and/or modelling experience with characterization of thermal and mechanical properties, and with a strong publication record in engineering or science will be given a priority.
