About the Role

The WEFT research centre director will be a research leader with vision for shaping the future of fashion and textiles research. You will foster a vibrant research culture, lead the development of strategic partnerships, and secure external funding to drive world-class research with real-world impact. As the Director of WEFT there is a requirement to deliver the relaunch of the Centre and refinement of a business plan and advisory group, and an opportunity to shape the trajectory of the Centre with inputs from this group, the former director as mentor, and others across the 51国产视频.

The Director has a close working relationship with the host Dean (School of Fashion & Textiles) and Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation (ADVC R&I) in DSC and will be accountable to them for their cross-RMIT work.

The Centre Director is also expected to offer and/or contribute to post-graduate teaching, doctoral training, and executive education in cognate areas. The Director ensures delivery of the Centre activities; promotes engagement and participation with and in the Centre; delivers high quality grant applications, and; draw links to learning and teaching and other partnerships as relevant across RMIT.

Job Description:

The Applied Chemistry and Engineering Research center of Excellence (ACER CoE) at UM6P is seeking to appoint a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher possessing a strong academic foundation in catalysis/ separation and chemical/process engineering. The successful candidate will significantly contribute to the conception, synthesis, and evaluation of ?separation/catalytic systems aimed at advancing sustainable chemical processes, including but not restricted to carbon dioxide (CO?) conversion, volatile organic compound (VOC) abatement, and hydrogen production/ storage…... The position requires proficiency in analyzing gas-phase reaction products utilizing gas chromatography and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Additionally, candidates should demonstrate comprehensive expertise in general material synthesis methodologies.

Candidate Profile:


	Hold a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
	Strong experience in separation sciences or ?heterogeneous catalysis and/or photocatalysis.
	Good expertise in the design of adsorption/catalytic reactors.
	Proficient in analytical techniques for adsorbent. catalyst and product characterization.

The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) has been fundamentally changing and shaping how we understand, prevent and treat mental illness and other conditions that affect the brain.? The Department of Psychological Medicine, part of the School of Academic Psychiatry, focuses on the interface between psychiatry and medicine, psychiatry and occupation, psychiatry and the military, and psychiatry in different settings.

Within the Department of Psychological Medicine, the Centre for Affective Disorders (CfAD) is a vibrant centre of expertise dedicated to research into affective disorders, primarily depression and bipolar illnesses. CfAD is a centre of excellence for both understanding the science related to these illnesses, and application of this knowledge to help develop new treatments of all types including psychological and pharmacological.? About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician to join the Centre for Affective Disorders (CfAD). The postholder will serve as the Clinical Research Lead for the Mental Health Translational Research Collaboration (MH-TRC) Mission Mood Disorders workstream at KCL – part of a major NIHR-funded national initiative to improve outcomes for individuals affected by mental health conditions.

This role will work closely with Professor Allan Young and Professor Anthony Cleare. The postholder will bring deep expertise in mood disorders and will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across the Mood Disorder research portfolio at KCL. They will work closely with South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Foundation Trust clinical services, other MH-TRC Mission sites and KOLs, patient representatives and industry partners to deliver high-impact, translational research aligned with the Mission’s priorities.

This is a full-time post, and you will be offered an fixed term contract for 12 months with a proposed start date of 01/09/2025.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria


	Full GMC registration with a valid license to practice and on the Specialist Register (or before start date)
	Substantial clinical experience in mood disorders within secondary or tertiary care.
	?Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
	Experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary clinical teams.
	Experience in stakeholder engagement, including with NHS partners, academic collaborators, and patient groups.
	Demonstrated experience embedding Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in clinical practice and/or research


Desirable criteria


	?Experience in clinical trial governance, including CTIMP and GCP compliance
	Familiarity with SLaM systems and research infrastructure.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Coastal and Rural Mental Health Realist Study (CARMHRS) is a 28-month project exploring the ways that people who live in coastal and rural areas look after their mental health and how local mental health services are helping them.

Mental health services in remote coastal and rural areas present challenges both for the people who live in these areas and for the organisations who provide the services. For people who need the services, many challenges relate to poverty, inadequate housing and transport links, and services that do not meet their social and other needs. As well as responding to these issues, service providers face other difficulties relating to staff shortages, poor digital infrastructure and transport infrastructure, and the need to provide standard services, including emergency responses, across large geographical areas.? The aims of the CARMHRS study are:


	To improve community mental health systems in Coastal and Rural (CAR) areas by assessing the impact of strategies (such as the Community Mental Health Framework), implemented in CAR regions on improving the accessibility and acceptability of mental health care services for people living there.
	To facilitate a Community of Practice to co-produce a Guide to improving accessibility and acceptability of mental health care services in CAR areas.????????????


The sites are Integrated health care systems (ICS) in CAR areas (Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly, Lincolnshire, and North East and North Cumbria) with two case studies per site, selected by low-income low population density neighbourhoods and related to Primary Care Networks.? The fieldwork for this role will be based in the North East and North Cumbria region, exact locations to be decided.?

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a multi-skilled and applied mental health researcher, with experience in knowledge mobilisation and research management. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will support the Principal Investigator in delivering research activities for the above NIHR funded project exploring how people living in coastal and rural areas look after their mental health and respond to changes from services designed to better meet?their needs.

You will be a 'researcher-in-residence', embedded in two local mental health teams in the North-East and North Cumbria region, using qualitative research skills, and working ethnographically?to understand how that area is meeting the needs of people from coastal and rural communities.? You will work alongside a Community Researcher, who will be researching how local communities are responding to service changes, and as a pair, you will be responsible for developing patient, public and involvement in the project, as well as for data collection (non-participant observation, realist interviews and focus groups, document review) and analysis (realist evaluation). You will also be part of a wider national team and will contribute towards the national Community of Practice for the study.?

This is an ideal opportunity for an excellent Research Fellow, keen to work in a supportive context that will enable them to achieve change for mental health care services and people with lived experience and take the next step in their career.? You will be actively supported to develop your own research career whilst working with us, including support towards grant writing and publication.?As a team we prioritise mental health - both our own and others - and we take positive steps to maintaining a good balance in all things, including work.

The?post is a part-time position working 22.2 hours per week, on a fixed-term basis for?21 months?from the start date.?

The days of the week these hours can be worked can be discussed at interview or on notification to the successful applicant. Weekend/evening working may be required occasionally.?
