The Medical 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Sofia is a public university located in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The university can trace its roots back to 1917 and is the oldest institution for studying medicine at a higher education level in Bulgaria. The university was initially established as the Medical Faculty of Sofia 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ and then became an independent university in 1995.

The Medical 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Sofia offers undergraduates, specialisation, and PhD programmes through it four main faculties: the faculty of medicine, the faculty of dental medicine, the faculty of pharmacy, and the faculty of public health.

The university has 13 university teaching hospitals.

The university offers a range of student clubs including a student council. The university also provides a wide range of amenities to its students through its libraries, reading rooms, dormitories and student recreational centres.

The university has partnership agreements with more than 150 universities around the world including National university of Singapore, Astana Medical College of Kazakhstan, Hiroshima 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Japan, the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Tennessee and many others. The university is also a part of the Erasmus+ programme and receives numerous students and faculties from around the world.
