Overview:

The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team focused on developing innovative numerical algorithms and software to address emerging challenges in scientific computing and machine learning. The research will emphasize both theoretical advancements and practical implementations optimized for modern HPC systems.

The postdoc will primarily contribute to one or more of the following research areas:


	Development of efficient numerical linear algebra algorithms, including sparse/dense linear systems solving and preconditioners.
	Scalable implementations of linear algebra methods targeting large-scale HPC systems.
	Optimization of linear algebra libraries for modern architectures (e.g., GPUs).
	Exploration of linear algebra methods in computational physics applications and machine learning.
	Integrate and benchmark the GINGKO library, a sparse solver that?supports mixed precisions


Responsibilities:


	Conduct original research in numerical linear algebra and HPC.
	Design, implement, and optimize linear algebra algorithms.
	Publish research results in high-impact journals and conferences.
	Mentor students in related research projects.


Qualifications?:


	A Ph.D. (awarded or near completion) in applied mathematics, computer science, or a closely related field.
	Strong background in numerical linear algebra, algorithm design, and parallel computing.
	Proficiency in programming languages such as python.
	Experience with HPC environments and linear algebra.

Pan Sutong Shanghai-Hong Kong Economic Policy Research Institute (PSEI) aims to promote policy-related research on economic development of the Mainland and Hong Kong. It will synergise resources and expertise in the Mainland and Hong Kong to strengthen research on salient issues related to the economic and financial development of the two places. It will also provide research consultancy on industry and economic policies, in addition to offering policy advice to the authorities to foster mutual prosperity of the Mainland and Hong Kong.

The Institute is seeking an outstanding scholar with distinguished scholarly accomplishment in research, teaching and knowledge exchange in the field of policy-related research on economic development of the Mainland and Hong Kong. The appointee will be appointed as a Professor in the Department of Economics and concurrently as Director of the PSEI.

The Director of PSEI will be expected to (i) provide strategic direction and leadership for the operation of the Institute to ensure research quality and effectiveness; (ii) formulate and implement strategies for networking and building rapport with academia, business sector, industries and other related stakeholders; (iii) explore new collaboration opportunities with community partners and stakeholders and (iv) identify and secure funding opportunities through grants, partnerships and sponsorships to support the research projects/programmes and various activities of the Institute.

About the role

The Events Officer will play an important role in helping to meet the Institute’s strategic external engagement goals, working as part of a dynamic team, situated within the heart of London.

The Officer will support the Impact and Engagement Manager to coordinate and deliver a programme of high-impact events – including the Institute’s annual flagship events series?China Week –?as well as help to develop external and internal communications tailored to the needs of a growing national and international audience based across government, media, business and academia.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and creative individual to coordinate a range of engaging events on modern China such as lectures, film screenings and roundtables, and create and disseminate content through the website, social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram) and digital newsletter to increase our reach amongst audiences in the UK and overseas.

The successful candidate will work with academics, external partners and departments across King’s to coordinate both in-person and hybrid events to ensure they are delivered as smoothly as possible. About the role

The School of Security Studies is recruiting a full-time Programme Officer who will provide administrative support to taught programmes within the Department of War Studies.
