The successful candidate will provide proactive and comprehensive operational support to our annual Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes Programmes, including the recruitment, onboarding, and academic environment support for over two hundred teaching staff. They will also deliver efficient and value-added administrative support to the Academic Centre for International Students department, part of the School of Humanities, including governance, human resources, and financial processes.?

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED LINGUISTICS

The Department of Applied Linguistics is a research-intensive environment with two MA programmes, which also contributes a Linguistics pathway on four UG programmes. We have recently established a Language and Cognition Research Laboratory, for Psycholinguistic and Phonetic research, with eye tracking technology.

Linguistics at XJTLU is a rapidly expanding area. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Associate/Senior Professor with excellent research, teaching, and supervision qualifications who will contribute to the department’s research profile. We are specifically looking for candidates who would bring knowledge and insights from the fields of Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing.? The focus or direction of Computational Linguistic research is open, and the successful candidate would demonstrate innovative approaches and be able to foster interdisciplinary engagement.

Pan Sutong Shanghai-Hong Kong Economic Policy Research Institute (PSEI) aims to promote policy-related research on economic development of the Mainland and Hong Kong. It will synergise resources and expertise in the Mainland and Hong Kong to strengthen research on salient issues related to the economic and financial development of the two places. It will also provide research consultancy on industry and economic policies, in addition to offering policy advice to the authorities to foster mutual prosperity of the Mainland and Hong Kong.

The Institute is seeking an outstanding scholar with distinguished scholarly accomplishment in research, teaching and knowledge exchange in the field of policy-related research on economic development of the Mainland and Hong Kong. The appointee will be appointed as a Professor in the Department of Economics and concurrently as Director of the PSEI.

About the role

The Department of Physics is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Education who is keen to be part of a successful, friendly, and dynamic collaboration with the Department of Physics and King’s Foundations.

As a foundation year teacher, you will be teaching highly capable and motivated international students on the Kings’ Foundations programme, which is a one year RQF (Regulated Qualification Framework) Level 3 programme for those intending to progress to undergraduate degrees at university.

Your responsibility will be to enable our students to achieve their potential and progress to studying a degree as independent, critical and creative learners.? In addition, you will be given opportunities to contribute to the development and delivery of the Physics & Mathematics modules.

Please note that as some of the students you will teach will be under 18, you may be required to act as a Personal Tutor to these students and as such an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service is a prerequisite for the role.

The successful candidate will be joining the Physics Education Research Group, and will be expected to take a lead role in the teaching delivery of Departmental modules, and to carry out minor administration as requested by the Head of Department. This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 3 years.
