Job description:

The successful candidate will start her/his activities in ACER’s facilities at the UM6P campus in Benguerir and will then move permanently to the IART new R&D center at UM6P in the OCP chemical complex in Jorf Lasfar after the completion of the construction of its facilities. She/he will:


	Undertake original research of international excellence.
	Prepare papers for publication in leading journals and/or contribute to the dissemination at national/international conferences, workshops and meetings.
	Communicate to the research projects team the development, progress and results of research activities.
	Develop collaborative links with the core scientific staff in related program areas to gain exposure and build knowledge on experimental/research activities and approaches, in order to improve conceptual development and implementation.
	Identify areas of improvement within the research structure using integrated management approaches in pursuit of capacity building/strengthening and the preservation of scientific rigor in research studies.
	Support if required, the development of proposals for research funding.
	Develop undergraduate courses, Master courses and modules. Support the appropriate equipment purchasing and ability to deal with international suppliers.
	Assist in the supervision of Ph.D. students and guide their research work. ?
	Lead R&D projects on the laboratory and pilot plants scales, analyze the results and provide reports and presentations to management and partners
	Carry out lab and pilot plant tests to overcome current technical challenges and develop new technologies. ?


Candidate Profile

Due to the multidisciplinary character of ACER CoE and IART, the ideal candidate must have as well a multidisciplinary scientific profile:


	PhD degree in materials science, chemical engineering, chemical Processes or another suitable engineering discipline.
	Knowledge about phosphate industry
	Experience in chemical process engineering
	Knowledge in advanced structural characterizations will be valued.
	Familiar with risk assessment and safe working procedures in a chemical laboratory.

DPM now offers two academic programmes: Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics and Master of Science in Global Public Health, in addition to the new academic programme, Doctor of Public Health offered by FHS since the 2024/2025 academic year.

DPM of FHS now invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Public Health. The candidate is expected to have strong exposure in at least one of the following three areas: traditional public health, hospital management and/or medicinal administration.

Qualifications

A doctoral degree in related biological, health and/or medical studies. Candidate for Assistant Professor should demonstrate a high potential of excellence in research and teaching and is preferable to have at least three years of postdoctoral training. The appointment at the rank of Full Professor and Associate Professor depends on qualification and achievements of the candidate, such as the established international excellence in research and scholarship as a proven record of publications in high calibre international journals.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2025/2026.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor; MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. The Centre has state-of-the-art acoustic capture and analysis facilities and a Visual Media Lab with video and audio capture facilities supporting research in real-time video and audio processing and visualisation. The Surrey Institute for People Centred AI (PAI) builds on 38 years of work into foundational AI in CVSSP, which is ranked 1st in the UK for Computer Vision and in the top-5 for both Audio-Visual AI and Robotics (CS Rankings, Sept 2024). The ACIT-Hub works closely with the Research Computing Services team based in IT services.
