		Lead and manage projects focused on healthcare innovation and assess the outcome, such as adopting automation systems, implementing AI and analytics in healthcare settings, workflow redesign for productivity improvement, and technology solutions for operational challenges in healthcare institutions?and professionals.
		Explore emerging healthcare technologies, frameworks, and practices to advance sustainable healthcare solutions in Singapore's healthcare ecosystem.
		Conduct needs assessments and operational efficiency analyses to address real-world healthcare challenges, particularly in varies areas related to allied health, nursing and community health.
		Conceptualize, design and implement innovative projects based on deep understanding of healthcare providers' needs and available technologies, matching both of them effectively, with emphasis on practical implementation and measurable outcomes.

		Monitor project progress, budgets, and milestones, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
		Assist healthcare companies and institutions in securing project grants, such as ICDG, EDG, LTIF, etc., by providing guidance on application requirements and processes.
		Work with the TTO to prepare project agreements that protect intellectual property while facilitating effective collaboration.
		Prepare comprehensive project proposals and costing analyses that align with funding requirements and institutional priorities.
		Provide quality assurance over project proposals and completion reports to ensure compliance with funding requirements and institutional standards.
	
	
	Professional Development and Expertise
	
		Stay updated with developments in healthcare innovation, including new technologies, regulations, and industry practices in Singapore and internationally.

Job Requirements


	A degree in Healthcare Management, Health Sciences, Engineering with healthcare experience, or a related field. Master or PhD in a relevant field (eg MBA) is preferred.
	At least 10 years of relevant industry experience in healthcare settings, with a proven track record in healthcare innovation, operational improvement, and technology implementation.
	Strong knowledge of healthcare technologies, resource management, and healthcare business practices in Singapore.
	Experience in healthcare workflow analysis, automation implementation, and healthcare metrics.
	Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.
	Experience in writing project proposals, grants, and government tenders will be an added advantage.
	Extensive experience and knowledge of Singapore healthcare industry practices to bring industry perspective to SIT.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the Microscopy Innovation Centre (MIC) as an Optical Microscopy Specialist / Deputy Manager. This position plays a central role in maintaining the technical excellence of the facility and driving innovation and development in advanced optical microscopy. You will support a wide range of imaging applications by ensuring the Centre’s high-end commercial systems and bespoke in-house development platforms remain at the forefront of current technology. This includes providing expert advice, hands-on technical support, and training to researchers, as well as contributing to the design and implementation of novel imaging solutions in collaboration with academic groups.

You will work closely with the Facility Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the Centre and contribute to its strategic planning and future development. This will involve helping shape service provision, identifying emerging technologies and opportunities, and enhancing the facility’s engagement with its user base. You will also contribute to long-term goals around sustainability, innovation, and collaborative growth within the research community.

The role requires a strong background in optical microscopy or a related field, with experience developing and using advanced imaging systems. A solutions-oriented mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment are essential.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week) based at the Guy’s Campus, and you will be offered an indefinite ?contract.

Essential criteria


	Post-graduate degree, preferably in physics, life-sciences or other relevant disciplines. PhD qualified in relevant subject area.
	Extensive hands-on expertise in a wide range of advanced optical microscopy techniques for biological research, such as confocal, FLIM/FRET, multi-photon and super-resolution imaging.
	Good track-record of high-impact work within development of optical microscopy systems, and a strong foundation within fundamental optics and optical design.
	Knowledge/familiarity with different biological sample types as well as sample preparation techniques such as fluorescence labelling strategies and clearing/expansion techniques.
	Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of researchers in a collaborative environment. Demonstrated ability to train users of different levels on microscopy instrumentation and concepts.
	Good track record of contributing to technology development or innovation in microscopy or a related technical field as well as troubleshooting and maintaining complex optical systems.
	Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a solutions-oriented approach to complex technical challenges.
	Strong organisational, planning and multi-tasking skills, with experience coordinating technical operations or supporting service delivery.


?Desirable criteria


	Experience with Abbelight and/or Leica Stellaris systems, related workflows and sample preparation techniques, with a specific emphasis on familiarity with SMLM sample preparation and analysis and LAS X software.
	Experience programming and developing microscopy-related software tools and hardware control (Python, C, C++ etc.)
	Familiarity with emerging trends in imaging technology and a demonstrated interest in continued professional development.
	Experience working in a microscopy facility environment

The CogStack team benefits from sitting within a leading programme of clinical, health and bioinformatics at the South London and Maudsley (SLaM) Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and forms a key component of both the Centre for Translational Informatics (www.ctiuk.org) and actionable analytics theme of the recently awarded Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) London site.

Major funding has been awarded by the Office for Life Sciences, InnovateUK and recently a Stage 3 AI for Health and Social Care Award from NHSx. The ecosystem has already been recognised in Government reports to the Chief Medical Officer, NHSx AI report, NHS Tech Plan and keynote speeches by the Health Secretary.

About the role:

The Clinical Data Linkage Service (CDLS), hosted by the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), provides secure and ethical linkage between datasets from King’s College Hospital (KCH), Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT), and the Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) platform at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM).

The postholder will support and maintain the use of CogStack to extract and process clinical data at KCH and GSTT for linkage to CRIS via the CDLS. This includes working closely with CogStack colleagues, data controllers, research teams and operational stakeholders across Trusts to ensure high-quality, auditable and timely data processing pipelines.

The post holder will be expected to be able to contribute to the following areas:


	Operational support for running and maintaining CogStack pipelines at KCH and GSTT, with a focus on secure, high-quality, and auditable EHR data extraction for the CDLS.
	Implementation and documentation of ETL workflows to map data to CDLS and CRIS data structures.
	Contribution to the technical specification and troubleshooting of issues arising in clinical data provisioning, NLP processing, or linkage preparation.
	Extension of CogStack-NiFi or other internal modules for custom data routing, transformation or enrichment tasks (e.g. MedCAT NER+L).
	Data quality assessment and contribution to the development of automated or manual quality control tools for clinical datasets.
	Communication of requirements and constraints to clinical and non-technical audiences, especially in relation to information governance and linkage protocols.
	Collaboration with the broader CogStack team to ensure architectural alignment, reusable components, and long-term platform sustainability.
