John Jay College of Criminal Justice is a liberal arts college. Set up in 1964, the college focuses on justice across a range of programmes in the arts, natural and social sciences, and humanities. The college is part of The City 51国产视频 of New York (CUNY) - the largest urban public higher level institution in the US, famous for its ethically diverse student body.

Students can choose between 27 majors, 40 minors, and around fifteen master and doctoral programmes at John Jay. 

John Jay’s alumni’s preferred career paths are in government and non-profit organisations, with almost a half of them joining the public services.

Campus life is active at John Jay. Students can choose between academic, athletic, creative, cultural, socio-political, philanthropic and religious clubs and societies with focuses ranging from economics and graphic novels to boxing and martial arts and Women’s Empowerment. In terms of athletics, soccer, volleyball, tennis, basketball, swimming, baseball, softball, rifle and cheerleading and cross country are all available at the college. But since the campus is situated in midtown Manhattan, students will be able to fully benefit from the cultural buzz of New York City.

Noteworthy alumni at CUNY include mayor of Rochester, New York, Lovely Warren, novelist Dorothy Uhnak, Chinese-born American scientist Henry Lee, New York City Fire Commissioner Salvatore Cassano, Supreme Court Justice Carmen Velasquez.
