We are seeking a post-doctoral researcher to join the SPIRS project team. This role is anticipated to be a 14-month duration in the first instance. SPIRS (Studying Prison In-Reach Services) is a 2-year project led by Principal Investigator, Dr Joe Garrihy. The study will examine the user experience of ‘in-reach services’ in the Irish Prison Service (IPS). The Research Team will analyse the experiences of those in prison engaging in ‘in-reach services’ who provide essential support to people in custody. The study seeks to understand how service users approach, make sense and find meaning in their interactions with these services. The study is funded by the Irish Prison Service.

The collective centrality of in-reach services in supporting people in prison and addressing their intersecting needs is inarguable. The experiences of service users and staff throughout their engagement and outcomes are underexplored yet are essential to account for their nature and functioning. The post-doctoral researcher will work with the Research Team to address this lacuna through comprehensive analysis across multiple in-reach services. The post-doctoral researcher will achieve this through the voices of the service users and staff, in addition to other stakeholders, including prison officers, psychologists, and others.

The post-doctoral researcher will be an integral part of a mixed-methods two-year study with a Research Team led by Principal Investigator, Dr Garrihy, and a Research Assistant. The post-doctoral researcher will undertake empirical participant fieldwork, mixed methods data collection and analysis with associated writing up informed by the relevant literature. The post-doctoral researcher will also support the Principal Investigator in carrying out other tasks related to the project.

The post offers the researcher the opportunity to join a dynamic, well-supported multi-disciplinary team within the research-intensive School of Law and Criminology – the largest criminology team in Ireland - while developing their professional and intellectual skillsets, publication record, lecturing experience and network.

Salary

Post-Doctoral Researcher Level 1 (2025): €45,847 p.a. (1 point - with increment)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.

The Department of Arts and Design of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Urban/City Design Theory and Practice.

According to the current plan, a Faculty of Design will be established at the new campus, comprising a Department of Architecture and Urban Design. The department will offer related undergraduate and postgraduate degrees programmes.

Qualifications

1. Doctoral degree (or equivalent terminal degree) in Urban/City Design or related areas; 2. A track record in teaching and research in one or more of the following design areas: a. Urban Design; b. Smart City; c. Urban Regeneration; 3. Extensive experience as a practitioner and educator to lead future degree programmes; 4. A significant record of urban/city design projects, major awards, and grants is preferred; 5. Proficiency in industry-standard software and emerging tools; 6. Comprehensive experience in teaching and supervising both postgraduate and undergraduate students is an advantage; 7. Proficiency in English is required, and proficiency in Chinese is an advantage for senior positions.; 8. Possession of a related recognized license is preferred.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. About The Role

The ServiceNow Support Engineer provides a range of analytical and technical support services, supporting, maintaining, and resolving issues with the enterprise applications such as ServiceNow. The role is responsible for the efficient and effective provision of services to users and colleagues. 	Investigate and resolve problems through root cause analysis, collaborating with team members. Assist with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative maintenance measures.
	Undertake functional configuration of platform and related components, develop minor enhancements such as catalogue items, applying agreed tools, techniques, and processes for administering information, documentation, and change.

About Us

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Assistant to join our TRANS-FOODS research programme, which investigates how babies become allergic to foods in early life. This post supports two studies (one observational and one interventional) to investigate the immune response and microbiome signatures in early life in relation to atopic eczema and baby massage. Both studies are led by Professor Carsten Flohr, Chair in Dermatology and Population Health Sciences at King’s College London.

About the role

The Research Assistant will provide high-level, proactive, comprehensive and efficient technical and administrative support, in particular to the Clinical Studies Manager and for the Unit for Paediatric & Population-Based Dermatology Research. This role involves leading on patient recruitment and data entry, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and efficiency. The post-holder will also support with the preparation and presentation of research findings to colleagues for review and discussion. A key part of the role will also involve supporting regulatory and ethical compliance, including maintaining proper documentation and ensuring study activities adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant guidelines.

This role will suit a candidate with excellent IT and organisational skills who can work accurately, with close attention to detail in a busy environment. The successful applicant will be able to work both independently and as part of the wider study team, demonstrate a flexible approach to work and meet deadlines using initiative and judgement to prioritise competing demands. In addition, they will have very good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31st July 2026.

The requirements of the post would be to be present in the office for 3-4 days a week, depending on study activities, which can be reviewed after 6 months. This will have to be approved by the Line Managers keeping in line with the King’s hybrid working model.

Research staff at King’s are entitled to at least 10 days per year (pro-rata) for professional development. This entitlement, from the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, applies to Postdocs, Research Assistants, Research and Teaching Technicians, Teaching Fellows and AEP equivalent up to and including grade 7.
