The computer science subject table uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as the Times Higher Education World 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ Rankings 2023, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the discipline.

This year¡¯s table includes 974 universities, up from 892 last year.

The 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Oxford leads the table for the fifth consecutive year. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Stanford 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ take the second and third places. The Technical 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Munich, one of only two German institutions in the top 50, is the only newcomer to the top 10. It claims 10th place, having climbed four places from 14th.

Many ranking in the top 400 for the first time are in the Arab region. These include Jouf 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Saudi Arabia and Minia 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Egypt in the 251¨C300 band; and Jordan¡¯s Al-Balqa Applied 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ and Pakistan¡¯s 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Engineering and Technology, Taxila in the 301-400 band.
