The education subject table uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as the?Times Higher Education?World 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ Rankings 2022, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields.

It highlights the universities that are leading across the following disciplines: education, teacher training, and academic studies in education.

This year¡¯s table includes 597 universities, up from 537 last year.

Stanford 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ leads the table for the fifth consecutive year. There are two new entries in the top 10: China¡¯s Peking 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ is ranked eighth, up from 11th, a year after Tsinghua 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ made its debut in the ranking at seventh, and the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Pennsylvania is joint 10th, up from 13th.

Elsewhere, Australia¡¯s Monash 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ rises 10 places to 20th?and the Chinese 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Hong Kong rises 20 places to 21st.

Imperial College London is the highest-ranked newcomer, making its debut at joint 59th?place.

Three other institutions feature in the top 100 in their maiden year: Germany¡¯s Technical 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Munich, Taiwan¡¯s National Yang Ming Chiao Tung 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ and mainland China¡¯s Fudan 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ.
