The Times Higher Education Latin America 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ Rankings lists the top universities in the Latin America and Caribbean region.

It is based on the same 13 rigorous performance indicators that underpin the THE World 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ Rankings, but the weightings have been recalibrated to reflect the characteristics of Latin America¡¯s universities. We evaluate universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

The 2022 ranking includes 197 institutions across 13 countries, up from 177 institutions last year.

The Pontifical Catholic 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Chile is number one for the fourth consecutive year, while Brazil¡¯s universities of S?o Paulo and Campinas hold on to second and third place respectively.

Argentina has a new top university, with Austral 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ in 44th place. 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of the Andes remains Colombia¡¯s best performing university, ranked 13th in the region. The highest new entry is Federal 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Para¨ª?ba in Brazil, at position 78. Brazil is the most represented country in the table with 72 institutions up from 67 last year, followed by Chile with 30, Colombia with 29, Mexico with 26, Ecuador with 13 and Peru with 10.
