Global warming could cause major famine in 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ within decades, according to Peter Clift of the School of Geosciences at the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Aberdeen. Professor Clift predicts in his newly published book, The 51¹ú²úÊÓƵn Monsoon: Causes, History and Effects, that a major period of dry weather could affect central 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ in the next 50 to 200 years, with summer monsoons rapidly becoming weaker.
