Times Higher Education has compiled a list of the top 100 most international universities using the ¡°international outlook¡± indicator from the Times Higher Education World 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ Rankings. This examines a university¡¯s international student numbers, its percentage of international staff and the proportion of its research papers published with a co-author from at least one other country. The list is drawn from the world¡¯s top 400 of the World 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ Rankings 2013-2014.

St Andrews has strong American links, with three Declaration of Independence signatories attending it or receiving its degrees - James Wilson, Benjamin Franklin and John Witherspoon.
