Stephen West, of Cancer Research UK's London Research Institute at Clare Hall Laboratories, has been awarded the 2007 Louis-Jeantet Prize for Medicine.
The accolade, which is worth E475,000 (about ?320,000), recognises his pioneering work understanding aspects of the DNA repair process, which has yielded new important insights into the development of cancer.
