(Photograph) - The Tyne Bridge makes an unfamiliar background for Mongezi Noah, a lecturer from South Africa's Fort Hare 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ studying for a doctorate at Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, who presented his work on township taxi services to last week's Institute of British Geographers' conference at Northumbria 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ, in Newcastle. Mr Noah explained that taxi services mushroomed under apartheid as black workers rejected white-run, state-subsidised bus services.
