Nicol Stephen, Scotland's Deputy First Minister, this week launched an Pounds 870,000 scheme to boost knowledge transfer. Interface, backed by the Scottish funding council, will provide a free matchmaking service between firms and higher education institutions. It aims to match firms with researchers and equipment, advise on funding available for joint ventures and boost business investment.
