Manchester 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ is developing technology for the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) radio telescope that will help astronomers process information it gathers. The ?1.1 billion telescope will be 200 times bigger and 100,000 times more powerful than the Jodrell Bank radio telescope. Researchers from the schools of Physics and Astronomy and of Electrical and Electronic Engineering are working on an all-digital system to transfer information to a detailed map of the sky.
