* Discounts for London students on buses and tubes has been extended to cover over-24s. From next September, all students in participating institutions, except those in work, will be entitled to a 30 per cent discount on weekly, monthly or seasonal travelcards. The existing scheme for 18 to 24-year-olds, which covered about 40,000 students, has saved them an average of Pounds 150 a year.
