Cuts to research into education must be halted, the British Educational Research Association has said. It has begun a letter-writing campaign targeting MPs with lower-rated education research departments in their constituencies. These include Charles Clarke, the education secretary, whose Norwich South seat is home to education researchers at the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of East Anglia. Another target is Margaret Hodge, the former higher education minister, whose Barking constituency contains the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of East London.
