Student juries will cost the taxpayer ?20,000, it emerged this week. Five student juries, to be held between now and Christmas, have been budgeted at ?20,000 plus expenses, Bill Rammell, the Higher Education Minister, said in a written answer. In October, John Denham, the Universities Secretary, announced a "student listening programme" that aims to put the voices of England's 2.3 million university students at the heart of Government.
