Three more higher education colleges have been granted university status by the Privy Council.

Southampton Institute will now call itself Southampton Solent 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ and Canterbury Christ Church 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ College will become Canterbury Christ Church 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ on August 1. 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ College Northampton has been awarded university status but is still to confirm its proposed title of Northampton 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ.
