Countries around the world are looking to a European shake-up of higher education as a model for reform of their own systems, a conference was told. Michael Gaebel of the European 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ Association said educators in 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ, Africa, Australia, the US and Latin America were looking more closely at the Bologna Process. He said China was interested in the process as an example of education reform over a wide geographical area. Meanwhile, northern Cyprus has been excluded from the Bologna Process. The Turkish-administered section of the island had lobbied to be included in the process but is not universally recognised as a state.
