The Association of Scottish Colleges has welcomed the long-awaited Scottish Office strategic framework for further education. The government paper, Opportunities for Everyone, highlights three key themes of access, collaboration and excellence. But the ASC says it wants further talks with ministers and officials about their messages on rationalising provision, improving quality, and governance and management. The paper calls on colleges to work more closely together, from simple consultation over forward planning to full merger.
