Medical Research Council William Marslen-Wilson, professor of psychology at Birkbeck College, 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of London, is to be director of the applied psychology unit, Cambridge.

Timothy Mead, secretary and registrar at the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Kent at Canterbury, has been appointed as registrary, succeeding Stephen Fleet on his retirement.

The Fulbright Commission The following are appointed: Deborah Owen, literary agent and former member of the Fulbright Advisory Board; Gary McDowell, professor and director of the institute of US studies at the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of London; C. Duncan Rice, vice chancellor of the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Aberdeen.

Stoke on Trent College Graham Moore, former principal at Stratford upon Avon College, has been appointed principal of Stoke on Trent College from May 1.

Natural Resources Institute John Perfect, chair of the European Scientific Environmental Monitoring Group and the European Consultative Group for Integrated Pest Management, is appointed director of the institute. David Wills, on secondment from the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Greenwich, will act as director until the end of the financial year.
