Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council

The following were awarded senior fellowships by the council: Michael Ashfold, professor in the school of chemistry at the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Bristol; John Pendry, professor at the Blackett Laboratory of Imperial College, London; John Toland, professor in the school of mathematical sciences at the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Bath.

Associatiao de Professores de Geografia

Patrick Bailey, visiting fellow in the education department at Loughborough 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ, was elected to an honorary fellowship of the associatiao.

American Academy of Management

Cary Cooper, professor in the Manchester school of management at UMIST, has been elected to a fellowship of the academy, the honour will be awarded in August in Boston.
