Nanjing Medical 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ is located in China¡¯s Jiangsu region. It offers esteemed medical degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and is internationally renowned for teaching in clinical medicine, pharmacology and toxicology.

The university opened in 1934 under the name?Jiangsu Provincial College. It changed its name in 1993.

Nanjing Medical 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ spans an incredible network of medical centres, with 23 affiliated hospitals and over than 50 teaching hospitals in the provinces of Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Shandong.

Research at Nanjing Medical 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ is facilitated by its laboratories, several of which have been specially selected to receive funding directly from China¡¯s central government or Ministry of Health.

In 2002 the university began receiving international students, and now around 500 attend each year. Almost 30 universities around the globe have partnerships with Nanjing Medical 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ.

The university¡¯s expansive library has been accumulating books since the university first opened. It can accommodate over 2,000 readers at a time, with over 900,000 printed works to select from.

Campus life is enriched by the many student organisations, which cover all interests from sports to politics. The astronomical society, volleyball club and fire volunteers are just a few examples of the activities on offer.

The university¡¯s two campuses are situated in downtown Nanjing and in Jiangning, a university town on the fringes of the city. Nanjing was the capital of China for many years, notably under the prosperous Ming Dynasty. Its trove of temples, mausoleums, museums, restaurants and galleries are a testament to its contribution to China¡¯s culture and history.
