A ?1.1 million research centre to explore the technology needed to capture and store carbon dioxide permanently in the ground opened last week at the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Nottingham. The Centre for Innovation in Carbon Capture and Storage will be a cross-disciplinary endeavour that unites together engineers, bioscientists, mathematicians, geographers and geologists. It is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and is headed by Mercedes Maroto-Valer of the university's School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering.
