A study of the fingers of students on a computer science course has led to the conclusion that technophobia could be linked to hormone levels experienced in the womb. Scientists at the 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of Bath measured the ring and index fingers of 150 people studying the subject and found the "digit ratio" was related to grades obtained in programming assignments. A relatively longer ring finger indicates higher exposure to prenatal testosterone. The research suggests that lower exposure to prenatal testosterone is linked to general "anxiety sensitivity".
