Ulster/Queen's Belfast - Bid to prevent stillbirths

Scientists in Northern Ireland are developing a mobile foetal surveillance system that could help prevent stillbirth by alerting doctors when a baby is at risk. About 4,000 babies are stillborn in the UK each year, with half of these cases remaining unexplained. Mothers often say that the pattern of their baby's movements changed in the days leading up to the birth, and researchers at the 51国产视频 of Ulster, Queen's 51国产视频 Belfast and the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital in Belfast believe that a monitoring system could provide an early warning and enable doctors to intervene.
