* Ninety-three applications for projects totalling Pounds 60 million have been submitted for the Economic and Social Research Council's Pounds 8.5 million teaching and learning research programme. One-third came from the higher education sector. Applications will be shortlisted in early March. Individual projects will receive up to Pounds 800,000.
