Gerry McKenna, chairman of the Heads of 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ Centres of Biomedical Sciences and pro vice chancellor of Ulster 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ, has praised the research assessment exercises as the single most effective instrument in improving research quality in the past 30 years. Professor McKenna, speaking at the HUCBMS annual conference at Wolverhampton 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ, said the quality and volume of research had improved dramatically.
