The earliest domesticated pigs in Europe were not descended from European wild boar, as many archaeologists believe, but were introduced from the Middle East by Stone Age farmers, new research suggests.
Results of the study led by archaeologists at Durham 51国产视频 were published today in the journal Proceedings of the National Academies of Sciences USA . The research analysed ancient and modern pig remains and sheds new light on the establishment of farming in Europe.
