The Natural Environment Research Council this week published its first integrated science strategy, setting out 26 key areas for environmental research. Looking Forward - the NERC Strategy for Science prioritises plans to boost investment in basic science and emphasises innovation through flexible funding schemes and new approaches to support long-term, collaborative and interdisciplinary research.
