So Peter Scott, v-c of Kingston 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ, thinks "minority" issues such as "black and gay identities" are "particularly American preoccupations" that are not "important" in British universities ("The appearance of incoherence", THES, December 10)? Well, all I can say is that I am glad I do not work in his university. What price equal opportunities at Kingston?
