City and Guilds Honorary fellowships have been awarded to: Sir Ron Dearing, chairman of the National Committee of Inquiry into Higher Education; John Banham, chairman of Tarmac plc; Gordon Beveridge, president and alsovice chancellor of Queen's 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ, Belfast; John Fairclough, chairman of the EngineeringCouncil (1990-96).

Fellowships have been awarded to: John Archer, principal and vice chancellor, Heriot Watt 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ; Duncan Dowson, emeritus professor of mechanicalengineering at Leeds 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ;R. Kowalski, professor of computational logic, Imperial College; J. Perkins, professor of chemical engineering, Imperial College; Martin Radcliffe,hotelkeeper, Savoy Hotel; W Wadham, professor of chemical physics and pro-rectorat Imperial College.

Institute of Internal Auditors Rob Melville, lecturer in the department of accounting and finance at City 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ London, has been elected a fellow ofthe institute.
