A mobile-phone giant and a leading US university are setting up a distance learning project in Africa. Stanford 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ and Ericsson are working with students and staff at 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ of the Western Cape in South African, Mweka College of African Wildlife Management in Tanzania and Makerere 51¹ú²úÊÓƵ in Uganda. The scheme, Dunia Moja or One World, allows academics and students in remote locations to submit and access video, audio and text-based course materials, take part in online discussions and post blogs.
