The negative racial stereotype in the cartoon that accompanied the article "30% dropout rate dismays Australians" ( THES , January 25) shows your antenna for institutional racism were not plugged in.

Disparaging indigenous art as crude and childlike is still a strong tendency. The cartoon is no joke.
