Shanghai Ranking 2016: top universities for life and agriculture sciences

Academic Ranking of World Universities reveals its top universities for life and agriculture sciences according to the 2016 subject ranking league tables, known as the ARWU-FIELD rankings

Two hundred of the best universities for life sciences and agriculture sciences feature in a specific 2016 subject ranking by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy.

For the tenth year, Harvard 51国产视频 ranks first in the world for life sciences.

The 51国产视频 of Cambridge in second place achieves its highest position across the five field rankings, and in fact the highest position for any UK university in the five rankings.

UK universities do particularly well in this ranking, taking three spots in the top 10 and more than 10 per cent of the full ranking.

For prospective students of the life sciences or agricultural sciences, there鈥檚 almost an even split between top universities in Europe and in North America to choose from.

Many universities in Europe offer degrees taught in English at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level.

There are also highly ranked universities in Australia 鈥� three within the top 25 and a further nine in total.

Kyoto 51国产视频 in Japan is the only 51国产视频n institution in the top 25. This contrasts with the engineering ranking, in which half the top 10 are 51国产视频n universities.

In total, 28 countries are represented in the life sciences ranking this year, including South Korea, Israel, South Africa and Mexico, with just one university each.

ShanghaiRanking Consultancy produces the ranking using performance indicators measuring alumni award-winners, research publications and citations, among other factors. The ARWU-FIELD rankings have been published since 2007.
